Homecoming is Almost Here β€” We Need Volunteers & Snack Donations!

Homecoming is one of the most exciting nights of the year for our Edmonds-Woodway students, and it’s right around the corner! This year’s dance will be held on Saturday, October 11th from 8:30–10:30 pm, and we’re asking for your help to make it safe, fun, and memorable.

Volunteer with Us

We need 20–30 parent/guardian volunteers (plus staff) to make the evening run smoothly. Volunteers will help with a variety of important roles, including:

  • Greeting students and checking IDs at the entrance
  • Supervising coat check and bag check
  • Monitoring the dance floor, cafeteria, and courtyard
  • Helping at the snack table
  • Floating where needed to keep everything moving

We pair volunteers together so no one is standing alone, and we ask that all volunteers plan to stay for the entire event. This helps us keep track of coverage and ensures a safer, smoother evening for everyone.

Donate Snacks

Another big way to support is by donating snacks. Everything is provided free to students, so your contribution makes a huge difference!

Here’s what we need for Homecoming:

  • 6 boxes of Rice Krispies Treats (Thank you Anonymous PSO Supporter!)
  • 5 boxes of fruit snacks (Thank you Anonymous PSO Supporter!)
  • 12 18 cases of water (Thank you, Dara Lehman!)
  • 3 2 boxes of Goldfish (Thank you Silviana Joyce & Anonymous PSO Supporter!)
  • 3 boxes of chips (Thank you Lena Kleven)
  • 3 boxes of Oreos (Thank you Anonymous PSO Supporter!)
  • 7 bakery-sized packs of Costco cookies (Thank you, Katie Dire!)

Snacks can be dropped off at the school office before October 11th. Please email the PSO to let us know of your donation, and we’ll update this post to cross off those items already donated.

Why It Matters

Dances are only possible because of volunteers and donors like you. When families pitch inβ€”whether it’s standing at the coat check table, offering a friendly smile at check-in, or sending in a box of cookiesβ€”we create a safe, welcoming, and joyful environment for our students.

πŸ’š Thank you for helping us make Homecoming 2025 a success!

πŸ“£ Reminder: EWHS PSO Meeting Tomorrow β€” Your Voice Matters!

Dear EWHS Families,

We’re reaching out with an urgent and heartfelt reminder:

πŸ’‘ Why This Meeting Is Critical

Our PSO is at a crossroads. Without new leadership and greater parent involvement, this vital organization that supports our teachers, students, and school-wide activities may not be able to continue.

The PSO helps make possible:

  • 🍎 Teacher appreciation events like staff lunches and the popular Trail Mix Bar
  • πŸŽ“ Student support for school dances, academic events, and the College Fair
  • πŸ’‘ Mini-grants for teachers and clubs to enrich learning
  • πŸ§‘β€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘ Parent connection and communication across grades and programs

But we need youβ€”your time, your energy, your ideas. Whether you want to lead, volunteer occasionally, or simply stay informed, this is your chance to get involved and help keep our school community thriving.

September PSO Meeting: Thursday 9/11 at 6:30pm

Our parent staff organization serves as the vital bridge between families and our school, ensuring every student has the support and resources they need to succeed. Throughout the year, we coordinate fundraising efforts that provide essential classroom supplies, grants, and enrichment programs that wouldn’t otherwise be possible with school budgets alone. We organize volunteer opportunities that bring our community together, from chaperoning field trips to supporting school events, creating connections that strengthen the entire school environment and support our incredible staff.

Without our organization, students would lose access to countless opportunities and resources that enhance their educational experience. The scholarships we provide help students participate in activities they couldn’t otherwise afford, our teacher appreciation efforts boost morale, and our community-building events create the school spirit that makes high school memorable. We’re not just a fundraising group – we’re the foundation that helps transform a school from just a building into a thriving community where every student can reach their potential. This is why finding a president to lead our efforts is so critical – without leadership, we lose our ability to make this positive impact on hundreds of students and families.

If we do not get a volunteer these programs will go away and our students and staff will suffer.

If you are interested in helping please let us know! Respond to this post or email ewhspsosecretary@gmail.com
